Macton Tal was the brother of Lo'Laan Tal, and a member of the Peacekeepers. He was highly prejudiced against Luxans, and was outraged by his sister's decision to marry Ka D'Argo. Macton eventually tracked the couple down, some time after the birth of Ka Jothee, to confront Lo'Laan about her decision to marry a Luxan and abandon her family. Lo'Laan refused to leave D'Argo, and the confrontation grew violent. Lo'Laan grabbed a knife to stab Macton with, but his Peacekeeper training took over his reflexes and he turned the knife back on her -- killing her.
Hoping to escape punishment for the death, he beat her corpse and framed D'Argo for her murder -- claiming he had brutalized her in a fit of hyper-rage. The scheme worked and D'Argo was arrested. Years later, however, D'Argo had escaped Peacekeeper custody aboard Moya and Scorpius used Macton Tal's whereabouts to strike a deal with the Luxan.
When D'Argo parted ways with the rest of the crew of Moya, he swore to track Macton Tal down. He preempted this by sending threatening messages to Macton, letting him know to spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder. Macton fled to seek sanctuary at a mental arts training camp run by Katoya. Macton and D'Argo were immediately confrontational with each other -- which Macton trying to convince D'Argo that he was, in fact, the murderer.
Shortly afterwards, Macton interrupted a session between Katoya and D'Argo -- killing Katoya and setting the virtual reality machine to torture the Luxan. He attempted to convince D'Argo that Lo'Laan had killed herself to escape him, but this lie proved unbelievable enough that it broke D'Argo from the exercise. Instead, Macton was forced to relive his own experience of killing his sister over and over.
His whereabouts after this are unknown, but it is likely he fell into a comatose state.
