Morgan Industries was a corporation originally from Earth. They were contracted by the United Nations to construct the Unity in order to colonize another planet outside of the Sol system and thus escape the brewing corporate wars on their homeworld. After the ship was launched, an unregistered cryocell was found -- not mentioned on any manifests. It contained Morgan Industries CEO Nwabudike Morgan -- also escaping the risk of open corporate warfare.
Upon waking, Morgan quickly established himself -- and proved to be the formidable reason behind his company's success. He forced his way into the deliberations of the senior staff, and as the crew began to splinter behind various leaders, he convinced many of them to follow his lead. On Chiron, he promised luxury and wealth, luring even more to his side. He established a new Morgan Industries, which sought a monopoly over all of humanity. He and his followers, the Morganites, were devoted to capitalism.
As he rebuilt his corporation on Chiron, Morgan gave each of his followers shares -- allowing them to participate in public discourse as shareholders. Each new settlement was considered a subsidiary of Morgan Industries. There were no handouts and no support for his citizens -- they held jobs, or were forced out into the wilds of a hostile planet. As such, many Morganites found themselves in terrible positions, working as in dangerous jobs just to survive.
