The Principality of Zairon was a faction of independent colonies from Earth, governed by the imperialistic House of Ishida for most of their existence and fiercely resisting the corporate rule that extended over most human colonies at the time. Zairon existed in an area of space commonly referred to as C-sector.
Zairon entered a period of great turmoil, beginning with the assassination of Emperor Ishida Tetsuyo. Though the murder was committed by his wife Ishida Li Na Katsumi, for several years the general public believed that his son Ryo Tetsudo was responsible. Hiro Ishida took the throne upon his father's death, but during his reign a war began with the Republic of Pyr that stretched Zairon's resources to their limits.
Ryo was able to prove his innocence, which led Hiro to abdicate the throne and pass the crown to his brother. However, Ryo was ruthless and determined -- committing acts of terrorism to weaken Pyr. Unfortunately, his tactics proved unpopular with his own subjects who rebelled against him.
