Temlaa was a protoss warrior and historian who was mentored by Savassan during the Aeon of Strife. Temlaa's duties involved guarding the xel'naga artifacts held by the Shelak tribe -- the artifacts were covered in writing, a concept the protoss of the time were unfamiliar with as they communicated exclusively telepathically.

One blood relative of Temlaa's is known to historical records, the warrior Raamar.

History[]

When Savassan announced he would leave the Shelak tribe in order to study the inscriptions on the xel'naga artifacts, he took Temlaa with him. When the two discovered the khaydarin crystals, they formed a psionic link to each other. Over time they discovered they could access this link even when they were not around the crystals.

The two studied the xel'naga artifacts for some time, even successfully understanding some of the symbols scribed on them -- but the next breakthrough was truly Temlaa's. Temlaa began to experience visions of a cavern full of xel'naga artifacts. Using clues from these visions, Temlaa and Savassan were able to discover the cavern.

Within it, they found the withered bodies of dead protoss, attached to a vine that connected to a massive khaydarin crystal. Savassan attached himself to the vine and he too began to wither, but Temlaa accessed a console in the cavern and managed to save his life. Not only that, but once freed from the vine, Savassan realized the way to ending the Aeon of Strife.

Legacy[]

Many centuries later, Temlaa's memories were accessed by the archaeologist Jake Ramsey.
